Autism Scholarship to be Awarded by RJT Criminal Lawyer

This contest is closed, we will be announcing a winner shorty.

The San Diego law firm of RJT Criminal Lawyer is offering a $1,000 scholarship for persons diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (autism or ASD). The funds will be applied toward tuition at school selected by the winning applicant. The Firm’s aim is to encourage those with ASD to continue their schooling.

Effects of ASD on Education

Autism Spectrum Disorder describes a number of developmental disorders. Those diagnosed with the condition may have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHA), which affects about half of children with autism.  Other medical and mental health conditions associated with ASD include sleep problems, anxiety disorders, and epilepsy, among others. ASD also affects communication and social interaction, and while ASD is often associated with children, more than half of young adults with autism are unemployed and do not enroll in higher education during the two-year period following high school.

Since the condition impacts the educational process, RJT Criminal Lawyer and its founder, Ryan J. Tegnelia, are hopeful that the scholarship opportunity will serve as encouragement to those diagnosed with autism to further their education at the vocational and/or college level.

The scholarship is in the amount of $1,000 and will be paid as tuition aid at the educational institution (trade school, college or university) chosen by the successful applicant.
