RJT Criminal Lawyer is pleased to be offering a $1,000 educational scholarship for people who have been diagnosed with autism (now known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)). The scholarship will be used to offset a portion of the tuition at an educational institution chosen by the successful applicant. The aim of the program is to encourage those with autism to continue their education.

Education and Autism

ASD is a term used to describe several developmental disorders. They include problems with social interaction and communication, repetitive behaviors affecting daily routines, and others. Conditions that were at one time separately diagnosed – autistic disorder, pervasive developmental disorder (not otherwise classified) and Asperger’s syndrome – are now included within the ASD umbrella.

Because of the nature of the condition, it tends to have a significant impact on education. RJT Criminal Lawyer is hopeful that by offering this scholarship, we will encourage individuals diagnosed with ASD to continue to strive reach their educational goals.

The Scholarship

This is a $1,000 scholarship consisting of tuition assistance at a trade or vocational school, or a college, junior college or university. The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution selected by the successful applicant. The scholarship money must be used within 1 year after the date of the award. It is not required that an applicant be enrolled in school at the time the application is submitted.
